Pedal assist mode
A lower pedal assist mode, reduces the amount of power the fatbike provides but results in an increased range.
Continuous riding at roughly the same speed, as opposed to frequent starting and stopping will yield a greater range.
Properly inflated tires have less rolling resistance which increases your range. Check out the required tire pressure in Bar or PSI on the tire and inspect the tire pressure regularly.
Properly charged and maintained batteries will give the rider the best range possible. Batteries stored in cold areas (below 50 degrees Fahrenheit or 10 degrees Celsius) will show a reduced range. Batteries that have not been kept in optimal condition will also have less capacity resulting in a lower range.
As the battery ages, total capacity can decrease. The battery has a total of 1,000 full cycles when it’s new.
Lithium-ion batteries have no chemical memory, and it is not necessary to discharge
the battery completely for the best performance. Charging a partially full battery will
have no negative effect.
The flatter the road, the less resistance your bike will experience and the longer the range.
Cold weather can negatively affect your battery capacity. We advise you to store the battery and charge it at room temperature during cold days. The power consumption warms the battery and you benefit from a good battery life, even when it is cold outside. In winter, however, plan for shorter trips or pedal with a lower level of assistance. Operating temperatures between 40°F - 85°F or 4°C - 30°C will significantly increase range.
Riding with tailwind reduces the amount of power needed from your ebike. Riding in headwind will increase the need for power and reduces the range.
The smoother the terrain (less bumps or rocks), the longer your range will be.
A light weight rider results in less battery drain which will increase your riding range.
A properly maintained Lumo Bike will yield the greatest range possible.
